MEGADETH Guitarist: New Album Has A 'Unique And Original Sound'

On January 7, MEGADETH commenced the recording process for its twelfth studio album at the band's own Vic's Garage studio in San Marcos, California. The CD was once again helmed by acclaimed British producer Andy "Undie" Sneap, who produced MEGADETH's last album, "United Abominations" (May 2007, Roadrunner Records).

Tentatively due in September via Roadrunner, MEGADETH's forthcoming LP will be the group's first with guitarist Chris Broderick, who replaced Glen Drover at the end of 2007.

In a brand new posting on the band's official forum, Broderick writes: "I can't believe the way the whole thing came together. It has a unique and original sound that I don't think could have come together with any other group of people. From Dave's [Mustaine] snarling vocals, to James' [Lomenzo] huge bass sound and Shawn's [Drover] dead accurate drumming, it is just relentless, and with Andy producing, it focused the sound and direction of the CD. I feel lucky to be a part of it. For one thing it definitely did was make me expand and play in different styles. I can't wait for the release and I hope all of you find something in it you like."
